It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that our founder, George Wood, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 14th, 2026, surrounded by his family.
George was a true pioneer in our industry. He founded Wood Investment Counsel in 1982, building a foundation of integrity that remains our North Star. His vision led to the creation of Obermeyer Wood Investment Counsel in 2014, and even after his official retirement in 2019, he remained a devoted partner for five more years.
