For our latest virtual event, Ceci Zak introduced the concept of a “modern elder pathfinder” who helps individuals navigate life’s third third (ages 60 onwards) by balancing key zones of influence including family, spirituality, psychological health, physical well-being, purpose, and place. She presented her research on “metirement,” emphasizing that successful life transitions require socio-emotional preparation beyond financial planning, and encouraged participants to identify both bold steps and small actions across five key areas—personal, psychological, physical, purpose, and place—to redefine their identities and pursue new possibilities. Through stories and personal reflections, Ceci stressed the importance of dreaming big, challenging limiting beliefs, starting retirement planning early, and focusing on what truly matters for well-being and fulfillment in later life, while offering free coaching sessions to help participants architect their own meaningful life transitions.
